Prof. Costas Nikiforidis is an associate professor of Biobased Soft Matter at the Biobased Chemistry and Technology Group of Wageningen University, The Netherlands. His research activities focus on the bio-sourcing of molecules and their use to create sustainable and functional soft materials. He is currently leading a team of 10 Ph.D. candidates, 1 postdoctoral researcher, and several undergraduate students. Prof. João G. Crespo, Professor of Chemical Engineering at the School of Science and Technology – NOVA University of Lisbon, Portugal. Director of the Laboratory of Membrane Processes at iBET. Marinella Farré, PhD, Principal Research Fellow at the Institute of Environmental Assessment and Water Research (IDAEA) belonging to the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC) (Spain) and one of the group leaders of the ON HEALTH research group. Her research focuses on the investigation of contaminants of emerging concern in the environment, food and humans, on the development and application of new analytical approaches by liquid and gas chromatography coupled to advanced mass spectrometry, as well as in the development and application of biological techniques, such as immunoassays and biosensors. Prof. Ioannis Mourtzinos, an Assistant Professor in Food Chemistry and Analysis in the Dept. of Food Science and Technology, School of Agriculture, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. His research interests include the extraction and characterization of plants’ bioactive ingredients, encapsulation of nutraceutical compounds and the study of antioxidants during heat treatment. Prof. Danijela Bursać Kovačević, a Professor of Chemistry and Technology of Fruits and Vegetables at the Faculty of Food Technology and Biotechnology, University of Zagreb (Croatia), project leader of the scientific project "Hurdle technology and 3D printing for sustainable fruit juice processing and preservation". In 2021 she was awarded two valuable prizes for highly cited researchers who rank in the top 1% of citations for agricultural science in the Web of Science™. Jasmina Nikić, PhD, is Research Associate at University of Novi Sad, Faculty of Sciences, in the field of Environmental Protection. Her scientific research is mainly focused on the material synthesis and their application in water treatment, with special emphasis on the removal of arsenic and heavy metals from water. She realized her scientific work through participation in several national and international projects. She is the co-author of more than 40 publications, of which 11 are papers in scientific journals of international importance. Prof. Petar Vrgović, an associate professor at the Faculty of Technical Sciences, University of Novi Sad. He is interested in researching human aspects of production processes: communication, conflict management, creativity management, and networking within open innovation. He is especially passionate about empowering SMEs in developing countries to collaborate, synergize, explore and utilize creative potentials in their employees, external partners, and customers. Brankica Kartalović, PhD, a Research Associate at the Department of Toxicology, Drug and Residues Testing at the Scientific Veterinary Institute "Novi Sad", Novi Sad, has 20 years of experience in determining food and feed safety by HPLC and GCMS instrumental methods. Main field of interest is development of methods for pesticides, antibiotics, PAHS and phthalates testing in food and feed, as well as development methods for sample preparation. Prof. Daniela Korolija Crkvenjakov, senior conservator and associate professor of conservation at the Academy of Arts, University of Novi Sad, Serbia, involved in different national and regional conservation projects, mainly related to the religious heritage of the 18th and 19th century. Her research interests are studies of artistic technology and the impact of the degradation to the visual appearance and conservation of artworks. Marijana Kragulj Isakovski, PhD, employed at UNSPMF since 2007. Her research area is physical-chemical interactions in the environment with a focus on the fate of organic pollutants in the presence of carbon-based adsorbents. She published more than 40 publications in high-ranking journals. She is intensively included in the development and validation of analytical methods for organic pollutants using gas and liquid chromatography. She participated in more than 30 national and international projects which cover the topic related to environmental science and remediation technology. Marijana Dragosavac is a Senior Lecturer in Chemical Engineering at Loughborough University and a Chief Scientific Officer at Micropore Technology. Her principal research brings together particle engineering, encapsulation and scalable membrane technology. Her focus is continuous manufacturing of high value particles including mRNA vaccines, micro/nano capsules containing living bacteria/cells and catalysts. As a PI and Co-I she secured over £4mil from funding bodies including EU Horizon 2020, EPSRC, and Innovate UK. Prof. Sandra Balbino has been working as a professor at the Faculty of Food Technology and Biotechnology, University of Zagreb since 2009. She is an expert in food plant design and has been involved in more than 30 industrial projects on optimization and planning of food production. She has participated in numerous scientific projects resulting in the publication of notable scientific papers, book chapters and presentations at scientific conferences. Her research interests focus on advanced techniques for extraction of lipophilic bioactives.
