Study programme Food Engineering educates human resources for the performance of professional work in the field of technological engineering in the scientific field of Food engineering. In the framework of this study program specialists are educated and trained to independently organize and run production processes in food industry, to control raw materials, intermediate products, final products and improve current technologies and procedures in the field of food engineering. Apart from that, gained knowledge presents needed theoretical and practical base for continuation of education through master degree studies and further on. On the bachelor degree academic studies of Food Engineering there are three optional study fields (modules): Carbohydrate Food Engineering, Food Preservation Technologies and Quality Control.

Study programme Biotechnology educates human resources for the performance of professional work in the field of Technological engineering, in the scientific field of Biotechnology with the title Bachelor with honors engineer in technology. By the realization of this study programme at bachelor degree studies, necessary academic skills are acquired and creative abilities are developed necessary for the analysis and synthesis of processes in biotechnological production, for the independent management of biotechnological production, for the optimization of current biotechnological processes, for the analysis of interaction of biotechnology and the environment in order to protect it. The aim of the study programme is also the development of skills for presentation and report of one’s results to specialist and wider audience. This study programme is also the base for continuation of education in the field of Technological engineering. The bachelor degree studies of the study programme Biotechnology cover two optional study fields (modules): Food Biotechnology and Biochemical Engineering.

Study programme Chemical Engineering educates human resources for the performance of professional work in the field of technological engineering in the scientific field of Chemical engineering. In the framework of this study programme specialists are educated and trained to independently organize and run production processes in chemical, oil-petrochemical, food and pharmaceutical industry.
The bachelor degree studies of Chemical Engineering cover three optional study fields (modules): Chemical-Processing, Oil-Petrochemical and Eco-Energetic Engineering.

Study programme Pharmaceutical Engineering educates students with clear and in economy recognizable profession and occupation, i.e. it educates engineers who possess socially justified and useful competence in European and worldwide frameworks. In the framework of study programme Pharmaceutical engineering specialists are trained and educated to organize and run production, process independently or in a team, in pharmaceutical industry, control raw material, intermediate products, final products, improve and optimize current and develop new technologies and procedures. Engineers are trained to solve theoretical and practical problems in the field of technological engineering, project pharmaceutical production, run original and scientifically relevant researches and development of new technologies and procedures in the field of pharmaceutical engineering, which contribute to the development of pharmaceutical products. The necessary skills for analysis and synthesis of processes in pharmaceutical production are developed, as well as for analysis of interaction of pharmaceutical processes and the environment in order to protect it, and the skills for presentation and report of one’s results to specialist and wider audience.

Study programme Material Engineering educates human resources for the performance of professional work in the field of Technological engineering in the scientific filed of Material engineering with the title of Bachelor with honors engineer in technology. In the framework of study programme of Material engineering, the specialists are educated and trained to run, control and improve material production independently or in a team as well as all components and final products obtained from ceramic, polymer or composite materials; to test and improve content, structure and characteristics of materials and to process, apply and recycle material as well as to analyze the influence of the materials and its production on the environment in order to protect it. This study programme is also the base for the continuation of education through master degree and further on.

Master Academic Studies

There are three optional study fields (modules) at master academic studies in the study programme Food engineering: Carbohydrate food engineering, Processed food technologies and Quality control. While registering at master academic studies, the students can choose due to their own aptitudes and wishes among mentioned optional fields.

Study programme Biotechnology educates human resources for the performance of professional work in the field of Technological engineering, in the scientific field of Biotechnology.Study programme Biotechnology at this level of study represent continuation of undergraduate academic study level. Its aim is education of master engineer in technology, trained to organize, control and project biotechnological production independently or in a team, run relevant researches and develop new technologies and procedures that contribute to the development of biotechnological products, i.e. for professional work and management in various fields of biotechnological industry.
Master academic studies of the study programme Biotechnology cover two optional study fields (modules): Food biotechnology and Biochemical engineering. While registering at master academic studies, the students can choose due to their own aptitudes and wishes among mentioned optional fields.

In the framework of study programme of Material Engineering, the specialists are educated and trained to run, control and improve material production independently or in a team as well as all components and final products obtained from ceramic, polymer or composite materials; to test and improve content, structure and characteristics of materials and to process, apply and recycle material as well as to analyze the influence of the materials and its production on the environment in order to protect it. This study programme is also the base for the continuation of education through doctoral degree and further on. After graduation at master degree level of studies, there is a wide range of employment opportunities such as power-plants and development laboratories dealing with obtaining and processing of materials such as factories of cement, bricks, tiles, ceramics, synthetic polymers (polyethylene, polypropylene, SBR caoutchouc) that are usually part of big multinational companies as well as great number of private and public enterprises dealing with material processing, with the aim of final product obtaining. This study programme is especially appropriate for the development of small businesses. Apart from this, employment opportunity also exists in trade enterprises dealing with material distribution, in scientific laboratories and education institutions.

Specialist Academic Studies

The aims of the study program Food Microbiology and Safety on specialist academic studies are to expand students’ knowledge gained during master academic studies in the field of Technological engineering (Food Microbiology and Safety). Development of creative skills necessary for organization, realization and control of microbiological safety and control of food in its every segment (raw material, intermediate products and final products), for all subjects in the food chain business, as well as for organization, realization and control of microbiological analysis an accredited and factory laboratories and scientific institutions are also aims of this study program. Apart from that, the aims of the study program are that students gain knowledge on modern approach and quality control concept of the results of microbiological food analyses. Integrated management system of quality control of microbiological analyses of the results and current national and international regulations dealing with quality control of microbiological analyses of the results is one more aim. Furthermore, the aims of the study program are also development of the skills for independent and team work, presentation and interpretation of paper results to specialist and wider audience as well as development of students’ awareness for the need of permanent education.

The program of Specialist academic studies Cosmetic Technology is focused on the acquisition of academic knowledge and practical skills necessary for independent managing of the technological process of production of cosmetics and personal care products and, also, for solving the existing problems inherent in the production process. Expanding the knowledge acquired within the master academic studies with new knowledge in the field of cosmetic technology allows specialists to independently and creatively solve the problem formulation and reformulation of certain groups of cosmetic products, professional and competent selection of appropriate equipment and technological process of production, as well as to influence the factors of colloidal and microbiological stability of the finished products, which meet the modern requirements of quality, safety and efficiency. Acquiring knowledge in the field of national, European and international regulations concerning the production, transport and quality control of cosmetic products, allows the high competence and independence of graduated specialist in all aspects related to product registration and control of their quality. The program of Specialist academic studies Cosmetic Technology lasts one year (two semesters) and includes two mandatory (first semester) and five elective (two in the first and three in the second semester) courses, as well as the creation of Specialist thesis. Teaching take place by working with small groups of students and mentoring, and at the end of study, the student acquires 60 ECTS.

Doctoral Academic Studies

The objectives of the doctoral program in Food Engineering are to deepen the knowledge students gained in the bachelor and master studies in the field of Technological Engineering, in the scientific field of Food Engineering, as well as the acquisition of scientific skills and academic skills, develop creative skills needed in the analysis of food - technological processes, research and development of new processes and development and optimization of existing processes in food technology, management and control of processes in food technology, designing food technology processes, an analysis of interactions between processes in food technology and the environment, optimizing food technology processes. In addition, the objectives of this study program are development of skills necessary for independent and team work, communication skills and presentation of results to professionals and general public, and also to raise students’ awareness of the need for continuing education.

The purpose of the study program of doctoral studies is the training of personnel who contribute to the development of science, solving theoretical and practical problems in the field of technology engineering, the scientific field of biotechnology. Biotechnology study program provides education Ph.D. trained to maintain their original and relevant scientific research in the field of biochemical engineering and food biotechnology and the development of new technologies and procedures that contribute to the development and improvement of bioprocess engineering and biotechnological production. Study program includes the upgrade, deepen and apply knowledge of basic and engineering disciplines, and training for transfer of laboratory conditions on the semi-industrial and industrial scale, for planning, design, operation and improvement of biotechnological processes. Biotechnology study program provides education students with a clear and distinctive profession in business and professions. The implementation of this kind of study program contributes the education of Ph.D.-Technological engineering who have socially reasonable and useful competences in European and world scale.

The purpose of the Chemical Engineering study programme of doctoral studies is to educate personnel to independently or in a team contribute to the development of science, solving theoretical and practical problems in the field of chemical engineering research fields which are: Chemical processing engineering, Oil-petrochemical Engineering, Eco-energetic Engineering.
Harmonization of doctoral studies with the modern trends in development of relevant scientific disciplines should provide training in creative, practical, organizational and management problem solving and improvement of existing and development of new tasks in their work.

Study programme Pharmaceutical Engineering of doctoral studies is in alignment with contemporary developments in relevant scientific disciplines and should provide training in creative, practical, organizational problem solving and improvement of the existing and development of new tasks for professional work. The objectives of the programme Pharmaceutical engineering at the Ph.D. level are to deepen the knowledge gained in the undergraduate and graduate studies in the field of Engineering Technology, the research fields of Pharmaceutical and Technological Sciences and the acquisition of research and academic skills, develop creative skills required in the analysis and synthesis of production processes of pharmaceuticals and cosmetics, research and development of new drugs and cosmetics production processes, management and control of pharmaceutical production, an analysis and interaction of pharmaceutical production processes and environment.

The objectives of the study program Material Engineering at doctoral studies are that student deepens the knowledge obtained in the bachelor and master academic studies in the field of Technology Engineering, in the scientific field of Material engineering, as well as the acquisition of scientific skills and academic skills. Students should develop creative skills needed in the process analysis in the field of material engineering; research and development of new materials; development and optimization of existing technological processes; management and control of technological processes in the field of materials; designing new technological processes in the field of materials and their use in environmental protection. In addition, the objectives of this study program are capability development for independent and team work, communication and presentation of the obtained results to experts and the general public as well as raise students' awareness of the need for permanent education.
