Project summary:
The aim of this project was to highlight the role of catalysis in solving energy problems, managing natural resources and protecting the environment - the three main directions in defining the principles of sustainable development. Within this project, a catalytic method for the synthesis of carbon nanotubes (CNTs) has been successfully developed. These nanomaterials are of double interest for researchers in the field of catalysis - they are obtained catalytically, and they represent a suitable support for the synthesis of a new desired catalyst. In this regard, new catalysts have been developed by "decorating" the obtained CNTs with different active phases, followed by their successful application in the processes of photocatalytic decomposition, catalytic denitration, etc. Since nanotechnology is becoming a key factor in the development of heterogeneous catalysts for biodiesel production, multicomponent catalytic systems with CaO as the active phase in the range of nanoparticles were also investigated, all with the aim of improving the mechanical and diffusion properties of the obtained catalysts. The research results within this project have been published in a large number of journals, and members of the research team have participated in numerous scientific conferences.
